I was looking thru the Target ad this weekend and came across a microwave for $45. It was one of those used by students at college but I was wondering if it would take the bounching of a TC? Does an RV require a special microwave or would this work? If it lasts a couple years. I can just buy a new one to at this price.

I use one of those when I am camping off the power grid... Doesn't take much power to operate it from my inverter compared to the big one. Mine is one that has all the manual twist knobs etc.. White faced...It takes a beating back in the woods and still works fine...Its was $35-$45 also...Roy Ken

I used one of those for 10 years in a TT, it was fine. RV models are usually front vented . You need room for air circulation. Other than that, the bouncing is not all that bad where it will effect the units workings . Just make sure its in a secured cabinet and not one thats screwed to the ceiling where it will rip down .I have seen people with add on tv's and microwaves installed in hanging clothes closets and converted pantries. Their mods ended up smashed on the floor.

The one I have is a $35 Emerson Radio brand 0.7 cubic foot, 750 watt microwave. Made a couple of custom under cabinet mounts and stuck it in place.It's worked good since 2008, with only one time where it shut down because of altitude. After it sat and cooled a while, it started working just like before.

We have a small, cheap, mechanical timer MW we got from Wmart years ago.
Still works like a champ.

Here's how I mounted it. I removed the lid and mounted the lid under the cabinet. I had to add a cross member to the frame of the cabinet for the screws holding the lid to the bottom of the cabinet.
It is a small MW and is 700watts. A bigger MW may weigh too much.

The newer Inverter technology Microwaves are at least 15lbs lighter. That's what I would get if this one breaks. Currently the small package MW's do not have the inverter tech.

Well, I went to Target to pick up the $45 microwave and of course they were out. But they actually had another one for $38! So I picked one of them up and will try and find the best spot for it. Thanks for all the answers and advice. You folks are the BEST!!!
