Gee it was nice of them to tell you that it is only a 700 dollar sensor or 1400 to clean some soot off the turbo vanes...
I would take the truck to some place that knows what they are doing, anyone can read a code and look at the list and say this part or that part MAY be bad.
Someone should put the truck through the proper test procedure for operating the turbo vanes through their range, while reading the output data from the boost sensor at the truck ECM....
They can do that easily if they know their business...
Did they say the vanes were jammed and not moving???
Was the sensor reading improperly, not reading at all??
Did the sensor have the proper supply voltage??
etc..
