Anyone carry their camper on a Chevy 2500 or 3500 with the 6.0 gas engine? With camper weight max 3000# how well does it do hills and mountains?

FE is 4.10 as well since it's 4x4
  • 2007 2500 hd and i had a 3000+ lb camper for years. The truck handled great. I added Tembrens and Rancho 9000 other then that all stock. Here in CA we have 7-9 % grades all over and up to 9000 feet Elv. Again no problem I now pull a 10,000 lb 5er with same truck no problem.
  • 2015 Chevy 4x4 Dbl Cab 6.0L w/4:10 RE. hauls the Rockies with no problems. A little slower than those that speed by, but I'd do this one again in a heartbeat, and have two 6.0L in a row, traded a 2003 GMC at 214,000 miles for this one. Very happy with the power and the truck hauling our Lance at about 3000+ lbs or so.

It's never wanted to climb a hill it couldn't climb. And has been in some pretty crazy places ... We live in Florida now, but camp in the western states almost every year.
  • I have have owned 2 GM trucks with the 6.0 gas engine and both hauled TC’s. My latest truck hauls a Arctic Fox 990 that weights 4,800 lbs., ready to go and it works great.
