That's a subjective statement. Just because someone's driving something doesn't mean a thing. Just like when you see someone towing a large TT with a small SUV. It may look like he's enjoying it but in reality he make be about ready to need a change of underwear. I drive a 2500 CCLB and it may look like no problem getting around but in reality I have to constantly be aware of my surroundings. Not so when I'm driving the Honda Accord.

The Global version already has one. Isuzu has a twin ,but it is a fairly different vehicle as far as driving dynamics go

My son bought a new 2008 Chevy Colorado back in Nov., 2008. He put on around 130K . He had the 5 cylinder engine, AT, Z-71 off road suspension , locking axle. It was a 2WD....but with the high ground clearance and both a mechanical locker (Eaton) and an electronic traction control he never got stuck.

BTW, we live in an area that experiences winter from late October/early November till late March/early April. We get a number of prairie blizzards...snow never leaves, doesn't melt like it does in many other winter climates. It comes early, stays late, stays cold. Tonight for example the low is forecast at -35.

The Colorado was always parked outside, mostly without access to a plug, sometimes 10-12 hours. Never failed to start....in this extreme winter climate.

Two things went wrong in the 6 years he had it. A speaker started sounding crackly and a hose started dripping. The dealer tightened up the hose clamp and that fixed it.

That 5 cylinder DOHC was a great engine. Nice power throughout the rpm, not bad MPG.

I get a chuckle out of some who dismiss the old Colorado. I think in some cases they denigrate it, because it has a bow tie on the front of the grille.

He had the extended cab...one of the few vehicles with enough leg room for me. I'm a big guy and have a screwed up 'hockey' knee...I need to be able to stretch out.

He got it because he didn't want a full size truck. He looked at the Ranger and although not bad, he wanted more cab room in a mid size.

He traded it in after 6 years, as he likes to have factory warranty with his vehicle.

Unlike many, he's not brand loyal. Always willing to give a different make a chance.

He got a new Jeep SUV...a Patriot. It has 4WD and the Trail Rated package. So far, so good, really likes it.

So not everybody wants a full size vehicle....mid size or compact suits them and their needs fine.

I disagree. I love my Siverado half-ton crew cab. The thing has a short bed and is till 19 1/2 feet long! I love driving it-----don't love parking it. You ever see a house wife try to park a long bed Crew Cab RAM in a parking lot?

Apparently you haven't because IT IS A PROBLEM for everybody waiting for her to make it happen and who is waiting in that row of parking spaces!

BTW-Some MALE driver's are not any better.

Anyone that has spent time in cities like Seattle, LA, San Fran, etc, understands this. Some people just want to disagree, or think there isn't a market because it isn't a blue oval product.

Nevermind the fact that Toyota sells over 150,000 Tacomas year in and year out. That is immaterial.

Well, that's not very good mpg? My 2500 Dbl Cab 4x4 6.0L gets 17/18 on the highway empty ... so, for a light truck with a V6, I'd sure expect more ... my 1999 GMC Safari van AWD V6 got over 20 mpg on the highways, easily.

I agree, Bionic. I parked my long bed Ram in downtown Houston for several years. I liked driving it but did not like parking it in tight places. If I could buy a new pickup right now, it would definitely be the Chevy Colorado. The pickup market is huge, and you should have a choice as to what size you will buy. One size does not necessarily fit all, and that is why you have so many size choices when you shop for other vehicles such as SUV's. GM did the right thing.
