  • 2008 D/A towing a 14600 of fiver avg 9-10.5 mpg. Bobtail around 16 mpg.
  • I have a 2005 lly 6.6 duramax DRW with allison transmission all stock no programs and Mr. Prime runs like a champ why worry about how many miles to the gallon you get you can't control price of diesel so just enjoy it and enjoy your rig remember all trucks have pros and cons they all do the same thing it's what you want and pay for it.
  • Had a 2008 prior to the DRW in my sig. Towed a 30' TT and got 12 MPG.
  • I have the Duramax listed in my signature. It is a late 2006 model and has the LBZ engine which seems to be the one everyone wants. Who knew when I bought it however. I currently have 152,000 on the odo.

I get 12 mpg +/- 0.5 mpg towing the fifth wheel in my sig. I know some will dispute that mileage, but I am a very and I mean very non-aggressive driver. Very moderate power when starting from a dead stop or accelerating and I NEVER tow faster than 60 - not ever.

My motto "I'll get there". I'm retired, what's the hurry.
  • 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax. 8-10 mpg towing a 23' toy hauler (about 7200 lbs loaded). 12-13 mpg? Must be the newer trucks because I have never gotten near that while towing.
  • Great power and pulls effortlessly. I get betweeen 10 and 12 MPG towing a 10,000 lb. travel trailer.
  • My truck is outstanding at towing and gets 8.5 to 9.5 mpg towing a 17,500 lb toy hauler.
  • avoid pre mid 2004, injector issues. speaking from experience 4 sets in 125K miles at $5000 a shot.
