- MARK_VANDERBENTExplorerI want a new 2014 Silverado with a 6.2 !!!!!! That truck will rock !! GM gas dependability and low cost of maintenance.
- The_TexanExplorerNo trailer-----18 highway and 16 in town, if I behave myself.
Towing---------10-11 on the level, 8-9 in the mountains.
I use the T/H mode 95% of the time I tow and the engine retarder built into the drive train sure is nice in the mountains. - mabelExplorerwhat kind of mileage are you getting?
- Mike_UpExplorerShouldn't be much to shoot out. Transmission ratios are nearly the same, 3.73 axle ratio is the same, and both 6.2L motor torque curves are the same. The difference is going to be payload, mileage and reliability.
What will be above the norm is the new 2014 GM 6.2L engine that's going to offer (estimated)420 HP and 450 lbs of torque. - Dave_H_MExplorer II:h oh oh, looks like we are gonna have to have a shoot out between it and the 6.2 ford.
- The_TexanExplorerYep, have one and love it. The trailer I normally tow is around 10K±, but have towed more than that. The truck has the guts and handles beautiful in the mountains. We have 4 other ¾t and 1t late model diesels on the ranch that I could use, but I much prefer my Silverado 6.2L NHT max tow.
