Chevy Tahoe - 09 and Later
I'm thinking about buying a Chevy Tahoe. I want the 09 or later because of the 6 speed. It will be used. Were there only 2 axle options - 3.08 and 3.42? Obviously I would want the 3.42. How do I deter...

There are a series of codes on a placard in the glove box and one of those codes denote the rear end. Sorry I don't recall the codes but if your search you can probably find them on this site. With the 6 speed in tow mode it holds in 4th gear most of the time unless you are on flat ground or downhill and then it may upshift to 5th. If I recall correctly it runs about 2700 rpm in 4th.
Thanks. I didn't know the 6.2 was an option on the Tahoe - I thought it was only on the Yukon Denali?
