I run TH any time I'm towing or hauling, sometimes even when not. The most important feature for me is the automatic downshifting when stopping. It really helps and saves on brakes. My factory original brake pads lasted almost 200,000 miles. When I'm towing I really don't give **** about the mileage. I want the truck to be safe, easy and comfortable to drive, have all the components last a long long time, and to keep up with traffic so I'm not a hazard to other drivers. I generally engage T/H and put the cruise on the speed limit.
I honestly can't think of any good reason NOT to use T/H.
