Chirping propane regulator
What makes the propane tank regulator chirp and how can it be stopped? It make that rhythmic sound when I use the water heater or furnace. Really annoying.

- Could it be vibrating somehow ? I've never heard one make any noise. Could you tape it to the mounting location to see if it quits vibrating and making noise ? Be careful not to take over the atmospheric opening on the bottom.
- The regulator was replaced last year because the older one was also doing that. I hear some others doing the same thing. Doesn't seem to matter which tank it is pointing to. This last trip it was no colder than 60 degrees outside in the morning. Can't figure it out.
- It usually makes noise when the tank is getting empty. I’ve also heard it when the outside temp is colder, in the 40’s and 50’s.
- Is the regulator over 10 years old? I recommend replacement with a Cavagna brand regulator and pigtails.
- Replace it? Mine makes a sound when pointing at one tank, but not the other.
