Cikira Escape 20EXP Expandable Travel Trailer

Just bought a used 2010 Cikria Escape 20EXP Expandable. It was in really good shape, and we got it from a dealer for what we thought was a good price, There is one soft spot in the floor but something I think I can fix with some shoring from under neath. No water damage and the dealer ship just resealed everyting that needed to be sealed. We feel happy about the price we got it for but I tried to do some research before hand and could not find any as to how the campers are maded and any issues that they can have.
Wondering what you guys and girls can tell me.

  • I have a 1990's vintage PUP and the floor has been spongy every since I bought it. I figured it was the cheapo construction they used. It has never given us a problem.

Our TT floor is very solid, but over time we have had many other issues. It is just part of the RV lifestyle.
  • Then if you get three years out of it that’s only $2,500 per year...$219 a month or so plus disposal fee.
  • Thank you both. After reading many things about all campers, each one has its issues no matter if you buy it used or new. I have spent a good amount of time trying to find the best Hybrid camper out there and I am not sure there is one better then another. They all have their own problems but then each of them have a lot of positivies. It is a 2010 and we got it for $6800 down from $7500, so walking out the door with tax and title we got it for $7500. They will not give us a full show set up and how to do everything but I am ok with that, I have a good camping friend who can help me. There is no slide out but this being our first camper, I think we can get a few years out of it till we get bigger car and camper.

    Any One still own one?
  • You inspected the dealer’s resealing, correct? If not I suggest you do.
Only one soft spot? Why didn’t dealer fix that? Fix carefully and be prepared for a surprise.

Cikira was a Michigan based manufacturer founded in 2006 which lasted only a few short years and folded several years ago. Obviously there won't be any factory support of any kind and information will be limited to others who may have owned one ... pretty normal when you buy an orphan. :(
