I like the lights that have the countdown for the cross wallk. I can see how much time is left as I approach the light. Haven’t run into a 2 second yellow light, but I know they’re out there!
I do also. The problem is lately it seems like more and more are changing the lights before the countdown goes to zero/don't walk. I have had them when it hits 5 the light is changing to yellow. - rhagfoExplorer III

We are all experts at making assumptions without all the facts! It would be interesting to have access to the LEO accident reports on this! - hotpepperkidExplorerI love it how all of a sudden everyone becomes an expert

Okay, I gotta hear this. How does it being a Ford diesel have anything to do with the reason why the truck flipped? And how would a SRW GM or RAM would have kept it from flipping?
It doesn't. Just thought this thread might need another ridiculous comment.:)
Somebodies just got punk'd! LOL. - DiskDoctrExplorerGlad everyone was okay and walked away! Things can be replaced.

We've all done it... light turns yellow, you hesitate while thinking what is going to move in the trailer if you hit the brakes harder than normal and you end up losing precious safe stopping time. Most of the time everything ends ok, but this time a number of factors aligned and it didn't end well. Thankfully everyone walked away."
He made several mistakes! Towing with a 5" lift, towing with questionable on many fronts tires, being severely over payload, possibly well over GVWR and/or GCVWR, along with mentioned above. Very glad they all walked away, actually surprised they did. Wonder if he received citation(s) as he should have. - wnjjExplorer II

Completely agree. - 2003silveradoExplorer IIThis appears to be a busy intersection with all shapes and sizes of vehicles going though it. If the light is timed that terribly, there would be so many accidents something would have to change. In my opinion many accidents mean about 1 a month. If there was an accident a month due to someone not being able to clear the intersection because the yellow light didn't stay on long enough before opposing traffic turned green (even in a monkey controlled state like California) the DOT would have to address the issue. I'm guessing there isn't an accident a month there so I'm completely blaming the driver of the RV.
As long as he was paying attention to the road and saw the light change from green to yellow at "40 mph" he could have STOOD on the brakes and brought that rig to a halt. If someone a$$ packed him that would be on them. Of all the laws tossed around in this thread I'm surprised no one has pointed out the "safe traveling distance law" that if you rear end someone you are almost always at fault, especially approaching an intersection.
