What model Ram is it? I know I had a 2011 Laramie QC, and the towing was only listed at like 7200#. Rambodybuilder is a great site for checking out your true towing capacity. The max listed in the manual is for a 2wd, non-extended cab with the 4.10 gears. Not your average build.
You should be within towing weight, but I found I ran out of cargo room real fast. Just a trailer alone put me at like 300 pounds left over with my last truck. I've since upgraded to a 2500, and ended up with a 4500# trailer anyways. Doh!
