Well, as of Oct8 it will be gone.There's a lot of places to have pictures hosted, but I've posted SOOOO many pictures over the years, all stored on my Comcast account, there's just no way I can go back and update each and every link to every thread I've ever posted.All of my posts with pics will lose their pics.Moral of the story - for those who have used their personal Comcast space to put pictures here on RVNet, come Oct8, they will be gone. Not only removing the service, but deleting anything you've stored there. Links will no longer work, pictures will be gone. I am okay with this thread in the Truck Camper Forum. Personally, I think it should be in all of the Forums, but that is not my call.Times past I had the same experience with imagecave, I think that was the name. On a few forums I wrote how to's on various subjects. They were of little value without the photos. It has really discouraged me from making a post that requires several photos and lots of time.I do have to go through the "Photo Thread - Post a Photo of Your Truck Camper Here" from time to time and delete the posts with broken links. It is very time consuming.Wayne

We never bothered to activate ours. Any idea what is their referred-to "special offer" ?

The Comcast change won't matter to me. No matter where you put files/web pages, you need a backup plan.

Realistically you only need to update your more recent posts. The likely hood of old posts even being relevant makes it unnecessary for you to worry too much.

This is the perfect example of why I used a third party photo hosting site from day one (Photobucket). I also use a gmail account as my primary email instead of the ISP provided email. I've been on the Internet for over 20 years now and lost track of how many times my ISP would fail, be bought out, etc. and each time brought on another round of me sending emails letting everyone know my new email address. No more...

Of course, if Photobucket ever pulls the plug, I'm in the same shape as Boatycall...

Google Drive doesn't work for hotlinking. From Google's FAQ page-- "The ability to host an image directly from Google Drive has been discontinued by Google. "

With a personal web site, you own the right to the site and the content -- as long as you pay the fee. ($4 - $5/month - maybe less) Sure it can be unavailable sometimes, but even if the web host goes out of business, you can move your site to another host - and the links don't change.
Works for me.

If you use a 'free' service, expect it to be worth every penny.

Boatycall, I didn't mean you don't have a backup. I mean that any service could go down at any time. And ... I agree no matter where we put our pictures, we could be impacted in the links.
