You are going to get a lot of different answers here. So much depends on your own individual circumstances. I don't know this, but if I were guessing, I would say that most of the people who are answering with (what I would consider) shorter distances are retired, and not on a schedule. If that was the case, I would likely agree with them.
For me, as I am working and vacation is a prized commodity, my trips are all about the destination, and not the journey. I can pretty easily swing 12 + hour travel days which cover a lot of miles through the mid-west where there isn't a lot of traffic, and speed limits are higher. But others might not be comfortable with that same schedule.
