I remember that in the early 1990's people were complaining that NY state considered any truck with a diesel to be commercial, even if you from out of state, pulling a camper on the interstate and headed to one of the states on the other side of NY. And the fines were substantial. They get some goofed up laws up there. I guess that they generate a lot of revenue. At least now it just applies to their own instead of ambushing victims from out of state.
