Commercial Plates for 250/2500 in New York State??

At the end of the day, sounds like Wa St. ALL trucks pay/buy tonnage in registration. Does not matter if you are using you pick up for commercial or personal. We buy in 2000 lb increments. It's based in tare times 1.5 to next highest ton, minimum. A 5000 lb empty truck is licensed at 8000 GVW. Be it my son's Toyota Tacoma, other son's ref cab 1500, or my regular cab C2500. ALL three weigh in the 4800-5200 lbs realm. My C2500 believe it or not, is the lightest of the three!
