The Highlander is the best choice of the vehicles you mentioned. With the towing package it can pull 5000 pounds. That gives you a wider choice of travel trailers. The Jayco 184bh is a good choice around $11,000 new. You can add a tent room to the awning for extra space. We had one and liked it. Tent trailers and A liner type campers cost as much as a regular travel trailer. Motor homes look nice, but they require just as much setup time as a travel trailer assuming you pull a small car behind. Without pulling a small car you will have to relevel and disconnect/reconnect every time you want to go somewhere. If you nevertheless like a motorhome rent one first before making a large financial commitment. Most importantly get your wife's input.
