It's possible...but not fun to do it in the winter. Down to the upper 20's at night is no big deal. But NY gets well below that for high temps pretty regularly. Can the camper keep it warm at -5F? How much propane will you be going thru? Is the camper set up for winter camping? Usually that takes a bit of time and effort.
Is the marina authorized for winter living on land? One cranky neighbor calling the authorities and you may suddenly be looking for a new place to stay on short notice.
I'm betting a truck camper just parked on the street is going to get attention real quick.
Where will you dump your sewage/gray water in the winter? Will the marina keep the water on, most shut that down to protect from freezing?
The vast majority of full timers head south in the winter.
PS: Yes, 99% of girls will hear dueling banjos if you take them back to a marina yard and try to lure them into your van. ;) You may find the stray one that thinks it's cool but the odds are not in your favor.
