AH Man - That brings back childhood memories of the late late 40s-early 50s for me. Mom would have the wood/coal stove going before the rest of us kids got up. The kitchen windows would all fog over and freeze on the inside. Couldn't see out until you scraped away the frost...
Wouldn't give up those memories for anything. Same goes with listening to the rain hit the trailer roof all night long when camping. Puts me to sleep in a heartbeat remembering the rain hitting the tin roof of where I was raised in Illinois...
My dad would raise and train bird dogs and trade for winter supply of coal to heat with... Some folks say we were really poor folks back then - richest days of my life...
