Just to give an alternate view.
I towed a 6k (dry wt ) 30 ft trailer for three years including 2 600 mile trips each year with no issues. My Tahoe was similar to yours. I went to a Suburban ( about the same set up) and it towed fine also.
Just make sure your trailer is set up right. This is very important.
