I just went from a 2004 6.0 diesel PITA to a 2019 6.2 gasser. After 1900 miles in New Mexico and Colorado, I am very muck OK with the switch. Yes, less torque and also oxygen starved at 10000 ft+ in Colorado mountains. On the plus side, the manual mode of the 6 speed tranny let me choose where to keep the power and rpm. A stick shift! Overall trip mileage just above 8 mpg. Again, OK with me given all the hill climbing on the trip.. The PITA 6.0 diesel got 10 mpg. Two stations in Colorado had diesel over $1 more that regular unleaded. Sheesh. And the $10,000 sticker for the diesel engine is quite steep IMHO.
Bonus: my cargo capacity in my new 350 is 6500#. Well over the weight of my Lance 1181. AND, I no longer need the Lance struts as the fully boxed Ford frame doesn't allow the camper to "porpoise".
Now I just have to learn all the things to do with the 4 groups of buttons on the steering wheel.
