Considering moving from Diesel to Gas...talk me out of it?

My 2015 Ford F350 with 6.2L gas + 4100-lbs (9'6" NL + people/gear) gets me over the Oregon Cascades without much struggle. Sometimes I'll run ~3,500-rpms to sustain ~55-mph at steep grade. I get 13.8-mpg running empty, 10.8-mpg loaded.

I run right at the GVWR, and had I gone diesel, the added weight of the diesel engine would have put me ~500-lbs over. That's another consideration.
