I am diesel person all the way and I only wish I could find small diesel boat, but look at the statistics.

-new diesels come with monster HP and torque, so the computers have to limit torque to avoid splitting the frame on lower gears. Nice thing to have
- gasoline does not have hefty up front cost
- diesel offers +- 20 % better mpg. Prices of fuel wary around the country, so in some areas you will save a lot at fuel pump, in other not so
- from all diesel trucks manufactured in last 20 years, they all still sell for good prices (even the poor Ford 6l)
