Consumer Cellular

Looking @ this product, please reply if you have first hand experience with this product in the (Rock Mountain) area. Other area details will not help. Thanks for all helpful replies.
  • It works off AT&T towers so it will work the same.Works just great in south eastern Mn.
  • Take a look at Page Plus. Extremely happy. They use Verizons network.
  • Consumer Cellular is an AT&T reseller. They use AT&t's towers and network.

Have been with them for about 4 months now. Switched from an AT&T account. Went from $68 per month to $32 per month (for two of us).

No long term contract required (month-to-month). Can use just about any phone that is AT&T compatible or buy direct from Consumer Cellular at reasonable (I think) prices.

Double check with Consumer Cell on the AT&T phone as there are some models that will not handle the change over without doing a few extra things.

Found Consumer Cell service to be very good. Lots of questions on my end when thinking of changing. They were very helpful and I felt honest about what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it. All was handle to my satisfaction.

Live in Oregon and spend time in the greater Portland area, the Oregon coast and up into Washington around the Mt St. Helens area. Have not had any problems with coverage.
  • I have been a customer of consumer Cellular for several years. Most of my camping is the High Rockies and also in the Redrock country of southeastern Utah. I just returned today from a camping trip to RMNP where I was in contact with my brother who uses Consumer Cellular and lives in Tucson. We send text, talked on the phone and sent pictures from Moraine Park. Like all cell phone service, and I have had several while my tour as a volunteer backcountry ranger for the USFS, communications is spotty in the back country at best. USFS radios were only as good if you could hit a repeater site. It is what it is but Consumer Cellular has been good for me. Texting works better than voice where reception is marginal.
