The wife's a proud GM owner of a new Traverse. We've owned Toyotas, Infinitis, etc, etc, for many years and when she went shopping for a new SUV, she compared it against the new Highlander. No comparison; the Traverse has much better fit and finish, nicer interior, more interior room, better third row seating, quieter, more horsepower, better mpg, better warranty and so on. It blew the new redesigned Highlander away. GM's doing some good things.
Please report back in these pages when the Traverse has 100K on the clock, and compare repair history with Toyota -- Highlander, 4Runner, what have you. IMHO, it will be no contest -- the Toyota will have been, and will be beyond 100K, much more reliable. I know someone with almost 450K on a 4Runner, the drive train has never been apart, and it still runs good and reliably every day.
That could be true. I've owned many Toyota products BTW, including the Tundra in my sig. But IMO, nobody makes an unreliable vehicle anymore in the major market segments like pickup, 4 door family sedan, SUV's etc.
