Thanks. That makes sense. Was some great deals to be had on the OBS Super Duties last year. I've always gotten better deals on GMs and Cummins than Fords with one exception--- back during the market crash I had a brand new black 2008 F250 PSD FX4 for 20k off of MSRP. Man it was such a hard deal to pass up but I needed a 1-ton.

To get back on topic- the '17s are tremendous and if you have the means I'd make the jump.

I've read that the Sharonville transmission manufacturing facility (where the 6r140 is manufactured) is scheduled to undergo a major retooling in August of 2019 in order to begin producing the 10r140.
10 refers to 10 forward gears.
R refers to rear wheel drive application.
140 refers to 1400 NM input torque.

1400 NM is equivalent to 1033 lb ft of torque.

If this info is accurate the 2020 Superduty will be equipped with a 10 speed transmission. If they plan to bump the torque of the Powerdtroke beyond the 1000 lbft level anytime soon I'm surprised the new transmission code name isn't 10r150 or 10r160.

lol, I told myself I was just going to take it for a drive too... then one thing led to another and...

They're interesting to drive, almost feels like you're driving a half ton, except to me anyways it feels bigger. That could be because I went from a 6 3/4' SRW to a dually though. I don't notice the width but I do the length (duallys only come in 8')

Me I bought my 2016 knowing it would be with me for a while and also with the fact that it most likely has a lot of bugs worked out by now on this chassis.

I think that was good reasoning for buying a 2016. I find it interesting that my posts come across as though I've made up my mind. I'm actually not sure what I'm going to do. I'm interested in how much value others see in the new style Ford. I can easily justify spending $4-$5000 per year on depreciation. I've had the truck for 1 1/2 years so $7500 for depreciation makes sense. Is there an additional $8500 in the new style truck?

To me, yes there is. Safety is way up due to the all-new frame and for my family that's always worth extra $ if I have it.
