Thanks for sharing the information.I wonder if they would also work on drawers. No matter the adjustment, it seems like we still have a couple of drawers that want to slide open when making turns.Anyway, thanks again, and also for providing the link.Good idea.

Blue masking tape works well in an emergency. Don't ask me how I know this.Also, pack the cupboard contents so they cannot get a sliding run at the door.

I always have a bag these bungee cords with a Ball on one end. Most of the time I can wrap this around something to keep things shut...The magnet sound like a great idea as well...Roy ken

Never had a cabinet door open on me yet in the MH.But then again I have a built in alarm for that! :BI packed up the MH and headed out of the CG and my dog would just not shut up. Non stop barking. After about a mile of listening to that I pulled over pretty much to try and shut him up until I noticed.....I had left the overhead cabinet open. Apparently he is the boss of making sure the MH departure list is completed. Closed the cabinet door and he turned around and went to sleep.:RNow only if he could see to tell me when I forget to bring the steps in.

Looks good Mike. We have these cabinet struts that hold our over head doors open as well. Kind of a pain in the neck to hold the door open every time while you look for something. When properly installed the struts cam-over when door is shut and holds them very tight. I like your idea for the non-overhead cabinet doors.

On our fifth wheel, we used these child safety locks.
You use the magnetic key each time to open or on the first open, switch the red lever and it remains unlocked. Flip the level again to resume locking.

We use these, too; and they definitely lock the doors. We're happy with this fix, as the standard latches were not effective always.

Been thinking more about this...

Any holding force (magnetism and friction are all that come to mind) which I have to overpower to open the cabinet or drawer is going to be annoyingly hard to open, if strong enough to be secure while driving, it seems to me.

Also, the closer you put that magnet to the hinge, the less effective it will be.

Reckon I'll stick with mechanical means. (Latches, bungees, etc.)

I just drilled into the cabinet and installed an eyelet and hook and then an eyelet on the door. Total cost $0.25 and once hooked, the cabinet does not pop open.

Jake I am not sure, this is their picture from the website. The only thing that I can think of is the flat surface of the magnet may have issues with the rough screws.

I think if I was going to do that on a truck camper I would put them at the top and closer to the end of the door. I would have to see how powerful the magnet is, maybe it needs the leverage to even open the door.
