IMO weight is not that important. But I would take a heavier one over a lite one, based on the trailers CCC. Poor plumbing, bad slide motors, misaligned cabinets, squeaky floors, leaking drains, stuck dump valves, cheap furniture, malfunctioning stereo's and TV's etc. All those problems can occur on a heavy or lite trailer. Only difference IMO is that generally a heavier trailer of the same length is probably built with stronger materials. There's a reason why a 12,500lb UVW 35' trailer is better than a 10,500lb UVW 35' trailer. Stronger frame, better cabinetry, more insulation, larger holding tanks, etc. But in the end they all use the same suppliers and they're all built with low wage help in a git er done now fashion.
For me I would look at the warranty. The longer the warranty the more the company is standing behind the product. Doesn't mean you won't be taking it back for repairs any less. But things like a fading front cap or excessive tire wear can take more than one year. It's good to have that 2nd year.
I know my next trailer will have a high CCC and 2 year warranty.
