I have owned 7 regular trailers and 2 light weight trailers. I prefer regular construction. Both my light weight trailers had lower ceiling height and lacked storage.
If I did not have a dedicate tow vehicle I could see where a light weight would be appealing to pull behind a daily driver.
Not everyone wants a 3/4 or a 1 ton truck. A lot of people want to pull a trailer behind a SUV or 1/2 ton and a ultra light gives them that option.
Quality can be subjective, two people can look at a trailer and have different perceptions. I have also seen people that had unrealistic expectations.
