No disrespect, but if we are talking same materials, I agree. However, lithium batteries weigh roughly 1/3 than the comparable capacity lead batt. They are also far superior to the lead flavor we are accustomed to when it comes to discharge rates, cycles in lifetime, and how far they can be discharged without damage.
Now, if only we can overcome the $600.00 price tag per battery......
