What frustrates me the most is that way they are just slapped together with no evidence of prideful construction practices. In my mind, if they can't cut a simple trim piece to match and figure out a way to properly attach it to the trailer where it doesn't start falling off within a couple of months of being built....to me, that speaks volumes about how shoddy the construction is that is hidden below the surface.
I saw one camper that had a electric fireplace, and it had cheezy plastic bricks above it to simulate a home fireplace, several had woefully inadequate mattress thickness of the beds, the cabinet doors felt like some kind of molded plastic and so on and so on.
Another thought provoking question. It appears to me that whenever I pull into a dealership, there is a preponderance of 5th wheels for sale as opposed to tow behinds. Will the mfgs. spend more time building a 5th wheel and put more energy into making sure the fit & finish are better than on a TT, or they equally poorly made?
