This question was answered when the first Airstream was made. And it continues to this day to be one of the highest quality (and highest priced of all trailers).
When other manufacturers got into the "lightwieght" market corners had to be cut to keep costs the same or less. (Although as the price for wood continues to rise you will see more and more trailer mfg's switching to aluminum.)
I have seen some people discussing Airstream and they have said that since Thor bought them out, the quality is starting to slip as well. I can't speak from experience on this topic though
