That's where your problem is, your generalities don't hold water. Have you ever looked to see how the tongue of your trailer is connected to the frame? welded vs. non-welded has no bearing on the issue of which is stronger. The weld if designed and done right is stronger then the material it is holding - that is a fact. Have you ever looked at the frame a a race car, or the roll cage? Are they one piece? Or are they welded? Whatever dude.
