My next trailer is likely to be a Northwoods Manufacturing Arctic Fox. They are a heavy trailer, but on the other hand the model I am considering has a cargo capacity of 3,000 pounds.
Look at the cargo capacity of the lite RVs and you will see that they are built meeting the absolute minimum requirements. Many have such a tiny cargo capacity that you are exceeding it by only carrying minimal gear, food, and water.
FWIW my NW Fox Mountain 28' 5th wheel has 4315lbs of CCC. It's a so called light version. Not really labeled as a lite but the dry weights are in the lighter category. UVW of apr 7300+lbs. Pin 1385lbs. 9000lbs loaded with 1800lbs on the pin. Not average 1/2 ton stuff when all said and done. We load everything in we want. Never worry about carrying fresh water as NW has a added support under the FW tank. Solid build throughout. Just wish they hadn't got a batch of fade prone front caps. Other than that after 10,000+ miles and 2+ seasons of camping it has almost zero issues. Knock on wood.
