There are some many variables to TT quality that it is hard to generalize. But at this point in time, I believe we get what we get because the market is designed for the average TT consumer.
The market has shown that.
• An RV is a limited use hobby device like a boat, gulf clubs, fishing rod, musical instrument or etc. Except for a limited few, people they just want it to work.
• Pricing is extremely competitive. If the manufactures were charging and reaping such tremendous profits, all those companies that are part of Thor and Forest River would not have sold out and given up their share of a lucrative market.
• I believe the average TT is traded in after about six years. Building it to last 25 years has no retail advantage.
• At a combined annual TT and 5ver sales total of over 300,000 units for several years running; I would think the RV industry and its consumer base are content for now.
If you are like me and keep your car or truck 10 or 12 years and accumulate 150,000 to 200,000 miles, you are the exception. You are not the person that they are designing the product for.
