I don't really think that you have to spend 75K to get a quality trailer. Look at Airstream. Some people have posted that since Thor took them over, their quality has slipped as well.
I think it's shoddy building practices at the factory and the people/company not taking pride in what they roll off the assembly floor. There is no reason why they can't put a screw in the right place (or enough ), cut trim to fit properly, and put enough welds in the metal joints.
It shouldn't cost much more, if any, to assemble them properly and with their economies of scale, it shouldn't cost that much more to go with better products.
I watched a YouTube video by Jayco with them assembling a trailer. They were touting a build time of seven hours per trailer, if you watch the workers in the back, they're just slapping them together. Toyota has on the website that it takes roughly 17-18 hours to build each one of their cars, and that includes metal stamping, frame construction, assembly and inspection.
I know that cars and RV's cannot be a apples to apples comparison, but there is no reason that they have to produce junk either.
