Costco Auto Program

We were at Costco a few days ago and I picked up a brochure re. their auto purchase program. I'm not in the market right now for a new car/truck but I was curious if anyone here has used that system. Is it a genuine money saver? I've seen on here before that many of you buy tires/batteries, etc. from Costco. As stated, I am just curious.

  • I've used the 15% off parts a few times and the Costco deal on a new Toyota.
If you are a member try it, and if you can get a better deal without it, good for you.
  • We tried to use it once - but the car we wanted wasn't in stock anywhere near us. Went to a non-Costco dealer who had the car, and they honored the Costco price, which was about $500 under what anybody was quoting. So, at the very least, get a Costco quote and go shopping.

  • We have used it on 4 vehicles over the years. It is a money saver and no haggling. Bought our daughter a 2015 Hyundai and had a price in mind. Ended up saving $200 over what I really wanted to pay.
  • Mod: I meant to put this in Tow Vehicles but hit the wrong one. Feel free to move it if you think it needs it.
  • Thanks. We're already members and if it's a money saver I may look at again when we're due for a new car.
  • I used it for my last truck. Long story short I found the truck I wanted and said this is what I want to pay. He said the only way he could do it is if I was a Costco member. On the way to the dealer I stopped at Costco and signed up. In the end he was not able to use the rebate program and still gave me the price, a few months later I got a gift card from Costco for $700 which worked out well. If you are in the market for a car its worh joining up just for the Costco cash gift card.
