Counter space or sinks?

I have owned quite a few campers, a motorhome, and a fifth wheel. For years I have observed manufacturers put the sinks right out front and cut off the counter into tiny bits here and there around the sink. Is it just me, or does someone need to say we want a sink placement that allows for the best counterspace, and even if one sink is behind the other, please don't keep cutting up the counter to move the sink into the best counterspace there is available.

We like to cook, not just do dishes!

  • Our counter is pretty small, cut up, but we generally dont have that much out.

There is a small flip out table to left of stove. Camper came with a small cutting board that sat on sink but Margaret said too much effort to clean it, and no good place to store-not sure what happend to it.

If I were to replace formica, sink would be replaced with a single. But that likely wont happen.

On the 3 burner we have a sleeve behind knob of front burner so it cant be turned on.
  • I have a nifty cover that fits over mine (when I'm not rinsing pasta...

    LOL... agreed!

My camper (NorthStars are smaller than others in width which is an asset that I like) but I do not need 2 kitchen sinks! It takes up more counter space and I am always using the factory cutting board for surface space.

Since my camper is smaller I would prefer more logically allocated counter space, but it might be different for the larger TC like the Host Mega Behemoth and similar.
  • Well everyone has different ideas about what is best. I hate the sink jammed up against the cooktop.

My big peeve is the huge 3 burner cooktop, that has the front burner out so close to the edge it is dangerous to use. I rarely use 3 burners at home, much less while camping. And even if I did, that arrangement is horrible. I would much rather have 2 burners, allowing for more counter space.
