Just had a new roof put on my TT & would like to know what's the best cover to put on. How long do they last & are they easy to install? How accessible to get into after putting it on. Any rec0mmendations would be appreciable.

In the many years I have been reading RV Forums, this issue comes up often. It seems the majority of RVers do not use covers. Some that have in the past say they would never use one again. It seems the covers last an average of 5 years, but one good wind storm can rip it to shreds.My 5th wheel is 20 years old, it sits in a storage lot when not on the road. I wax it every two years and wash it before each trip. It still looks like it's new. The roof membrane was showing signs of failure last year so I had it coated with the two step RV roof coating. My vote is no cover.

I've covered my trailer and will continue to do so. Yes a cover only lasts about 5 years. But it is cheaper in the long run than a full roof replacement!

Sure, lots of people decide not to cover their TT, but those that do see cooler inside temps, longer lasting wax jobs, and a realitivly clean TT when uncovering to use. I use an ADCO cover - breathable material, and zippered sides to allow you to enter while covered. Installation is easy and covered in the directions in the ADCO covers - basically when it is on, you unstrap the bottom, pull up the sides from the top, fold to the middle, then pull it down into a plastic garbage can from the rear and fold it accordion style. You also have to take precautions to cover sharp edges like gutter down spouts and door stops. Easily done with a pool noodle cut to size and slid over the protrusions.
