Vehicle frames are steel and coated and while some rust is normal, they don't typically fail within ten years. This is a structural component that should be designed to last at least as long as the vehicles frame components. As I said, this one particular mount rusted out and failed far in advance of any of the others or any rust on the frame so maybe it was the finish, poor steel quality, had a hairline crack when made or whatever but when everything that has any signs of rusting is roughly equal in its progression, and one item stands out and completely fails in the same environment then something went wrong. What if this was the Superhitch which I flat tow a vehicle with? Is a failure in ten years acceptable for that to fail? I get it, things will break down at different rates in different environments but this one item failed prematurely with all thing being equal. And I'm not condemning the product as I know **** happens but was disappointed in their dismissive response.
