Here is the states most of the folks doing that kind of hauling convert a class 6-7 medium/light heavy duty truck, no real need to go full class 8 as even the biggest RV isn't going to exceed their capacity.
Another reason is because we have class 3 pickups and 4-5 trucks with enough power and capability to pull those kind of trailers. Most of our class 3-5 diesel trucks have more horsepower than some of the optional engine power ratings on the Mercedes Astros as well. Base diesel output for that Astros is 310 hp for the V6 and 350 hp for the V8.
