We traveled from California to Rhode Island and back this past spring. We took 3 months to do it. We found that driving more than 3 hours a day was very uncomfortable for both of us. I did blog about the trip so that our kids could see where we were, and to help us remember what we did where.
We used less traveled roads mostly, but when we were near big cities with history, we parked the trailer and took a city tour on one of those buses. We wanted to see the things people from other countries see when they visit the US. We saw lots of museums and state parks. I wish we could have taken a whole year!
We took our 3 small dogs along, too.
