Crossroads Zinger Travel Trailer Warning

Our Crossroads Zinger Travel Trailer had a complete wheel bearing fail after 4,500 miles. Our warranty expired 1 month and 12 days prior to the failure. Crossroads basically read our warranty to us ove the phone, said they would refer it to a manager and we never heard from them again. We were stuck for an extra week.

  • Hard to say, but warranties are just that, they run out. In this case the company should have been a bit more responsive in their response, although they really had no obligation to cover the repair.
  • I certainly wont blame the victim here. If it was assembled and lubed properly in the first place it should have gone tens of thousands of miles without needing service - regardless of manufacturers CYA statements.
  • What is the warranty from the axle manufacturer?

BTW, welcome to the forum. Not a good way to introduce yourself. We have many one post complainers come and go.

Granted this is an early failure, Crossroads warranty is two years. Anything they don't build is warranted by the company that builds it.

Also, the RV market is not the same as Real Estate. RVs get abused a lot, and people take them for granted on maintenance.
  • Looking at the axle it appears to be one that requires yearly maintenance, is in you didn't lube it.

Crossroads has one of the better reps out there, I doubt -any- builder would extend the warranty where you didn't do required maintenance.
