The link article says it will use Atkinson cycle--Atkinson is good for efficiency but poor on low end torque. What makes diesels fun to drive (love my 2012 Ford 6.7) is the crazy high low end torque. Maybe something about this design fixes low end torque or maybe it just spins real fast while the fighting vehicle rolls across the battle field.
