We are talking about Roofing our 5th wheel at our NW RV Park and leaving it there year round. The plan would be to remove the boxes and hitch from our 2015 3500 CC SB CTD Aisin tranny 4x4 truck and get a tri-fold bed cover. We will use it to drive back and forth to Arizona, and be our only vehicle for 8 months a year.
Why?
It is a great freeway cruiser that gets good mileage, is super conformable, and has a nice big back seat. The 3.42 gears work really good for towing our 16K trailer and cursing bobtail. Would never consider trading it for a low geared gas powered truck.
Put a cab over rack for the kayaks and a front rack for the bikes on the truck you have.
Got to run we are driving tonight for dinner and play, and have to pick up friends!

And the 6.4 trucks have basically the same attributes as yours. Plus no expensive fuel filters to change and what you do save in fuel on the diesel will get absorbed by a out of warranty repair compared to the 6.4 out of warranty repair.
It will be 8 years or 120K from date of purchase before I have to worry about out of warranty repairs.
By then it should be pretty much settle it.
Why don't you trade your powerstroke for 6.2?
Chris
Well for one I didn't purchase an extended warranty so I've been over 100k miles for a little over a year with no warranty. But with my needs of pulling I prefer the Power Stroke, but then again I accept that I will have a expensive repair one day and I don't use the improved fuel mileage as a selling point.
