Not saying this is the case as I've no way to know (and sometimes tires fail due to being punctured by objects on the road, or manufacturing defects) - but if you have ever exceeded 65 mph, or ever towed with the tire overloaded there's a chance the damage was done then. Even if it doesn't blow on that trip, if the tire is damaged it's just a matter of time.
