Well you've certainly going to get some opinions on the tires.
For repair: Yeah, the gaffer's tape will seal back up the fabric. If it was mine, I'd at the least cut a plastic/rubber tire flap or something similar and attach it over the ripped fabric.
The aluminum is difficult to get back exactly right, it's the nature of it when creased. You can work on it with some hammers and board to get it back to near original. Put a few layers of that same tape onto the joint.
Don't feel too bad, I could see the road from the inside of my trailer due to tire damage.
