I have read all the threads about how it's impossible to get good trailer tires anymore. Because I see them recommended all the time, I just looked at Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Radial+857&sidewall=Blackwall&partnum=0R4857&tab=Sizes#RatingsReviews) According to their description these are ST tires, not LT? Quote from the Trailer Service link:" These heavy-duty, special purpose trailer tires are not meant for use on cars or trucks." Have they changed this recently? I have read on many boards that these tires were LT truck tires that were also rated for trailer service. They are not cheap either...
I am going on a round trip to Colorado in October, about 2600 miles. I will keep it at 62 (They are J rated tires), keep tires at full pressure, won't overload the trailer, and cross my fingers we make it.
Think I will also pick up a second spare tire just in case...
