A sales person there used my email to sign up with his name for the professional network site called Linked-In., so now I get all kinds of invitations to "add people" to my (his) circle of contacts.
That's not possible unless you gave him your email password. However, if you're on linked in, he could have connected with you or sent the request which is probably what you're seeing.
