Too high. As suggested, go online to RVWholesalers - where we've bought both our HTT and our new TT, and also RVDirect. RVW does not post their prices, but will email them to you. Example: our new Rockwood Ultra Lite 2604 had an MSRP of just over $31,000. We paid $20,000 and change. You should be looking closer to the 30% discount. Granted, it was a 2013, but happened to be just the interior and features we wanted and didn't mind that the 2014s were coming in the door.
Negotiating is a huge PITA! Whether you would remotely consider the drive from your area to Lakeview, OH to RVW, print out their information and take the quote to the dealer you're talking to. You're going to hear about horror stories about not being able to get service and blah, blah.....not true and you can certainly tell him you know people who have bought there and have received local service....US! Among others.
We have a dealer about 15 miles from us where we saw the HTT and fell in love. Of course, he was practically giving us the trailer and no one could possibly meet or beat his price and so on. When in fact, after expenses to pick up our HTT in OH, we saved over $4000 over the guy right here. In fact, he was the one to handle the service we needed...a Dometic refrig recall and he knew full well where our trailer came from. But he's going to get paid by somebody and likely doesn't care who it is....this time it was Dometic.
Do lots of online homework and go prepared with documentation in hand. He'll either be interested in selling it to you or not. One thing you can ask to have included is a WDH with sway. And not Brand X.....ask for recommendations and give him a choice of those only.
Someone on this forum and in your area was just looking at that model - think they decided on another one, but hopefully he'll come in with some local info for you. That's a great HTT. But you need a LOT better price.
